Dark Lantern: Knust x Kunz, Munich

14 September - 2 November 2019
Group Exhibitions

Galerie Sabine Knust is an internationally operating gallery for contemporary and modern art. Founded in 1982, the gallery represents a selected group of international artists across four generations and exhibits both original works and prints and editions. In addition to its main space near the Odeonsplatz, Knust x Kunz+ was opened in Munich’s Museum Quarter in 2010.

Attercliffe™, a curatorial project by Paul Morrison, is the gallery’s partner for this year’s Various Others. Housed in a former Victorian bank branch, Attercliffe™ presents a cutting-edge look at today’s British art scene.

Dark Lantern

Munich, 2019

Paul Morrison is known for his use of appropriated images from other fields and genres including botany, still life, film and architecture. His wall works, drawings, sculptures and paintings are created with finely tuned, reduced color palettes of white, black, gold and silver and, most recently, a vibrant red, for a small “thicket” on a plinth. The show presents a variety of recent paintings depicting landscapes and still lifes.
