Venetian 18C carved and punched corner pattern frame, a very charming example of Venetian framemaking in the 18C, the gold almost all lost leaving a soft, almost liquid surface. The frame has a punched star motif in the panels, which is unusual. This frame came from the collection of the late Paul Levi who had possibly the largest and best collection of antique frames ever assembled.
