The LIFE in a line!: Heath Robinson Museum
The Life in a Line brings together an extraordinary line‑up of artists to show just how far a single drawn line can go - from explosive expression to razor‑sharp precision, from humour to psychological depth.
This exhibition transforms the Heath Robinson Museum into a dynamic celebration of drawing in all its forms, across eras, artforms and styles, from canonised artists of the 20th & 21st century, think Picasso, Mattise, Warhol, Auerbach, Giacometti, David Inshaw, Michael Ayrton), as well as works by Young British Artists (Damien Hirst, Jake Chapman, Glenn Brown), and contemporary visual artists (George Condo, Matthew Collings, Zavier Ellis) to musicians (Ronnie Wood, Shane McGowan of The Pogues), and large-scale works by artist and doodling sensation Mr Doodle, whose vast hand-painted mural greets visitors at our entrance, covering walls and windows, with a further new series of works spilling across canvases and onto the gallery walls, playfully connecting with our namesake Heath Robinson's rarely seen cartoons of The Adventures of Mr Spodnoodle.
